Elos Fixturlaser has developed a new shaft alignment tool, the Fixturlaser EVO, which features a slim form factor, an adaptive user interface, and a proprietary alignment methodology, Verti-Zontal Compound Moves™, allowing shaft alignments to be performed almost always in just one or two moves. The Verti-Zontal method requires no re-measurements between the vertical and horizontal adjustments. The horizontal adjustment is carried out while guided by real values displayed on-screen during the entire process.

“We are inspired by Albert Einstein who said: ‘Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.’” says Hans Svensson, CEO of Elos Fixturlaser AB. “Our product development is driven by the goal of allowing maintenance professionals to focus on getting alignments done, rather than focusing on the tool.”

The Fixturlaser EVO is an all-digital wireless shaft alignment tool with built-in Bluetooth connecting the dual sensors and the display unit. The sensors are each fitted with a 30 mm CCD detector that gives the user an unparalleled measurement accuracy and precision regardless of ambient light.

The display unit itself is compact, fitted with a 5” color touch screen, and easy to handle in tight spaces. It has a clean, color-coded graphical user interface that guides the maintenance professional through the measurement and alignment process.

The Fixturlaser EVO offers routines to align both horizontally and vertically mounted machines, along with an extensive set of utilities, including the Feetlock function that is useful in base/bolt-bound machine situations. Another feature designed with the user in mind is Screen Flip. It enables the aligner to see the machine set-up from the actual view that he has of the machine.

According to David Zdrojewski, CEO of VibrAlign, “The challenge is to make laser shaft alignment tools that are powerful yet easy to use, but also compact enough to fit tight alignment situations. The new Fixturlaser EVO offers the slimmest laser/detector heads on the market paired with a display unit that looks like a tablet but is ruggedized for heavy industrial use.”
