VibrAlign Inc. announced today that their laboratory facility in Richmond, VA has been awarded certification as an IS0 17025:2005 accredited laboratory for calibration of the Fixturlaser laser alignment tools they distribute in the U.S.  IS0 17025:2005 is the international accepted standard which governs laboratories based on agreed standards and procedures.

“We’re proud to have passed the certification audit,” said David Zdrojewski, VibrAlign CEO, “It’s a thorough and comprehensive evaluation of not just the laboratory, but of our computer software, the proficiency of the lab technicians, our evaluation and record keeping procedures, and even our management systems.  Our customers can rest assured that their laser alignment systems are calibrated to meet the highest standards of accuracy.”

The ISO17025:2005 accreditation process is very stringent, requiring that the laboratory was able to demonstrate NIST traceability, which establishes the chain of ISO certified accountability for the testing of all of the relevant equipment used in the lab to perform the calibrations.  In addition, repeatability of VibrAlign’s calibration processes was tested and measured.  Documentation was written outlining the detailed processes required to ensure the accuracy of calibrations as described in the scope of accreditation, which was then verified by the assessor during proficiency testing.  Finally, a management review process and internal audits where put in place to maintain the high standards specified in the scope.

The accreditation process is completed with the final surveillance and reassessment of all calibration processes and a management review.  VibrAlign began the process in early January 2012.
